There are several different ways in which you can get involved with the work of the SaC lab:-

  • Anyone is welcome to volunteer to take part in our studies, subject to meeting the qualifying criteria which can vary by study.  A list of studies which are running at the current time can be found on the Research Participation page.  It is also worth reading the page of Participation FAQs, which contains the answers to a number of questions you may have as a participant.
  • If you are a researcher interested in either being an intern/research assistant in the lab, or doing a PhD in the lab, then our Join the Lab page lists currently available opportunities in this regard.

Both of those pages are updated on a frequently basis, so do please check back regularly.  As always, please don’t hesitate to get in touch (via the Contact Us page) if you have any questions about either participating in one of our studies or joining the lab as a researcher.

  1. Eileen – there’s very little British research on that except maybe for Narcolepsy, but both Idiopathic Hypersomnia and “long Sleepers” are left in the dark by british researchers. I think maybe its not “sexy” enough, but you’ll be hard pushed to find anywhere doing that research except in europe or the USA. Even the BSS have little interest in this field.

  2. I am just wondering whether anyone is interested in why some people sleep well too. I have no problem sleeping so probably have no place in your research but just caught BBC Breakfast this morning. Conversely I can drink any amount of coffee however strong with no effect at all and fall asleep using Mobil phone app The Chase or Eggheads!! Do you investigate us who are the opposite of what appears to be the norm?
